Introducing Palmetto Family Council
Palmetto Family Council is a non-profit, faith-based educational foundation committed to “defending and strengthening South Carolina families.” Primary issues of concern to the Council include life-long committed marriage, the relationship between parent and child, sexual responsibility in youth and adults, the definition of marriage, life issues, legal issues and public and private gaming.

Palmetto Family Council was formed in 1994 and operates in association with Focus on the Family and Family Research Council. As the Council enters its 15th year, it enjoys the reputation of a clear, credible voice on cultural and public policy issues affecting the family.

Palmetto Family Council is about…

family Promoting Families. Palmetto Family Council is…a p.r. firm for the family. PFC was created to promote the centrality of the family to life in South Carolina. We do this by working with community leaders (church, government, business, education and civic) to develop programs and strategies for creating strong families and turning the tide on family breakdown. These programs are aimed at creating positive, long-term change in South Carolina.
rings Encouraging Marriages. Palmetto Family Council is… a healthy marriage catalyst. We believe that strong, healthy marriages are central to our state’s social, educational, fiscal, physical and even mental health.
Girl

Preparing Children. Palmetto Family Council is…a source for parenting resources. PFC believes in intentional parenting. That means we seek to treat children with kindness and firm discipline. Our singular purpose is to provide learning experiences that will help children understand and feel the love of God ... thereby developing and enhancing a personal relationship with their parents and Christ.

Through associations of professionals like the Physician's Resource Council, the Legal Resource Center and the Strong Families are Good Business campaign, Palmetto Family Council works with "little platoons" (Edmund Burke) of South Carolinian leaders committed to a family-friendly culture.
churches Equipping Churches. Palmetto Family Council is…the leading South Carolina source for public policy and family life resources for churches. PFC provides Christian churches with useful policy analysis and practical solutions to increase effectiveness in fulfilling the vision God has for the family.
research Researching Solutions. Palmetto Family Council is…the “go-to” location for data and research on marriage and family life in South Carolina from a biblical perspective. Palmetto Family Council believes that before we can fix the problems of marriage and family in South Carolina we need hard research on the situation we face on a community by community basis. PFC has been providing information and analysis regarding cultural trends since 1994.
legislation Watching the Legislature. Palmetto Family Council is…your eyes and ears at the Statehouse. PFC works for the family by monitoring the legislature and analyzing legislation for its family impact. Palmetto Family Council provides educational workshops for legislators on family issues.
citi Training for Citizenship. Palmetto Family Council is…your source for keeping informed on the issues and fulfilling your duty to “render unto Caesar (Mat. 21:22).”
