Gambling (S628, S535, S560). Makes social poker, raffles, and casino nights legal but our legal counsel suggests tinkering with this code section could open loopholes. Status: All three bills died awaiting Second Reading in the Senate.  [MOST RECENT ACTION: 05/14/09] 

Gambling (H4837, H4270).  Attempts to lift restrictions on raffles and bingo for charitable organizations. As drafted could open the door for other forms of gambling. H.4837 was passed into law on 06/11/10 without the problem provisions. H4270 died after it was sent back to Judiciary Committee on 04/29/10.

Gaming Machines (H3708). Purports to regulate only “Chuckie Cheese” type games but sponsors of bill are pro-gambling. Status: Died after full Judiciary Committee sent it back to Subcommittee.  [MOST RECENT ACTION: 03/11/09] 

Dating Violence Policies (H3543) and Dating Violence as Criminal Domestic Violence (H3310). Status: H3543 passed the House and died in the Senate. [MOST RECENT ACTION: 01/21/10]  H3310 died awaiting a second hearing in the House. [MOST RECENT ACTION: 01/29/09]

Alimony (S1183). Permits a court to award alimony to a party who commits adultery if adultery occurs after one year
. Status: Passed Senate Judiciary Committee with a Minority Report. Died on the Senate floor.  [MOST RECENT ACTION: 04/01/10]

Beer Tastings (S693, H4572). Loosens state law on beer tastings. Status: S. 693 died due to legislative hold by Senators Leventis, Fair, Elliott, and McGill  H4572 was passed into law with improvements on 06/07/10.

Lottery Ticket Sales on Election Day (S110). Status: Passed Senate; died awaiting a hearing in the House. [MOST RECENT ACTION: 03/09/09]

Personhood (S398 and H3526). Defines an unborn child as a human being in a way that prevents the law from being implemented. Status: Died in respective subcommittees. [MOST RECENT ACTION: 03/04/10]

Defining Microbreweries (H3693) and Alcohol Sales Permits for Non-Profits (H4516). Status: H3693 with improvements was rolled into H4572 (see below). H4516 with improvements was passed into law on 06/11/10. 

Micro Distillery Regulation (H3452). Status: Passed into law with improvements on 05/06/09.
